Did the redesign quietly break your SEO?

Traffic drops after a launch are rarely caused by the algorithm. They are caused by a canonical tag pointing at the old domain, a leftover noindex, or 400 old URLs all bouncing to the home page. We request your sitemap, your robots.txt and a handful of your own live URLs, and show you exactly which of those happened.

Based on publicly available data only. Informational, not legal advice.

What this checks

  • sitemap.xml and robots.txt: does the sitemap load and hold real URLs, does robots.txt point at it, and does it accidentally disallow /products/ or /collections/
  • Live requests to a sample of URLs taken from your own sitemap β€” 404s, multi-hop redirect chains, and the classic migration symptom of old URLs landing on the home page
  • Canonical tags on the home page, a product page and a collection page: present, absolute, self-referencing, and on the hostname you actually sell from
  • An unintended noindex, whether it sits in the page meta tags or in the X-Robots-Tag response header
  • Product JSON-LD on product pages, BreadcrumbList / ItemList on collection pages, and the basic Open Graph tags
  • Titles and meta descriptions: missing, unusually short or long, or the same string repeated across several pages
  • Whether http redirects to https, and whether www and the bare domain converge on one hostname instead of serving two live copies

FAQ

Is this a full site crawl?
No. It is a spot check: we read your sitemap index, open the first two child sitemaps, and then actually request up to four URLs out of them. That is enough to catch a template-level fault β€” a broken canonical, a leftover noindex, a redirect rule that swallows everything β€” because those affect every page of a type at once. It will not find a single individually broken product page.
Why do some lines say 'could not tell'?
We read the HTML exactly as your server sends it and never run JavaScript. If your canonical tag, title or structured data is injected by a script after load, we will not see it and we say so instead of failing you for it. Same when a page or the sitemap does not respond at all β€” no response means no verdict, not a bad verdict.
The report says a redirect is fine, but Google still shows the old URL. Why?
Redirects are correct-at-the-moment-we-asked. Search engines re-crawl on their own schedule and a 301 can take weeks to be reflected. This tool tells you whether the plumbing is right today; it cannot tell you when an index will catch up, and it has no access to your Search Console data.
